Message from the HIMAH President

To our HIMAH Members and Colleagues:

We continue to watch the evolving situation with COVID-19, also known as Coronavirus, and want you to know that we are thinking of you during this difficult and challenging time.  All of us are impacted by this unexpected pandemic and will need each other for support and collaboration. We will miss each other this year due to the cancellation of our annual conference but know that HIMAH is here to support you always.

The coding guidelines and reporting for encounters related to the COVID-19 was recently published by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and will continue to develop. We want to share with you these guidelines to promote consistency in data capture for COVID-19 diagnosis and Telehealth.  We hope that you will find this resource helpful and encourage you to continue to monitor the coding guidelines as they may change.

Thanks for your continued support for HIMAH.  Stay safe and healthy and we will see each other again soon.

Sincerely,

Mary Ann Floresca, RHIA, CCS, CPHQ
HIMAH President
