HIMAH 2024–2025 Board of Directors and Committee Chairpersons


The primary purpose of HIMAH as a member association is to commit to excellence in the management of health information for the benefit of patients and providers. Its mission is to lead the health informatics and information management community to advance professional practice and standards in Hawaii. HIMAH shall be and is a nonprofit corporation under the laws of the State of Hawaii.  The organization is a leading provider of accuracy of health information creation, delivery, and release. Health Information members are employed by hospitals, clinics, and other healthcare providers around the world.

The Health Information Management Association of Hawaii is pleased to announce the appointment of the HIMAH 2024-2025 Board of Directors:


Name and Credentials



Patrice Jackson, MS, RHIA, RHIT, CHP, CCS, FAHIMA

The President shall be the chief elected officer of HIMAH, preside at all meetings of the members, the Board of Directors, and the Executive Committee.

Past President

Lynette M. Williamson, Ed.D., RHIA, CCS, CPC, FAHIMA

The Past President is responsible for advising the Board of Directors regarding past practices, general administration, and other matters to assist in the effective ongoing operation of the corporation.


Jane Schramko, RHIA, CPC


The President-elect shall act in place of the President in the event of the absence of the President and shall exercise such other duties as may be delegated to the office by the Board.


Emma Thompson, RHIT


The Treasurer shall keep adequate and correct accounts of all the properties and financial transactions of HIMAH make deposits, pay invoices, and report in the name of and to the credit of HIMAH.


Charlotte Fujishiro, RHIT, HCP, RAC-CT


The Secretary shall be official custodian of the records of HIMAH.

1st Year Director

The Director (First Year) supervises the activities of the following committees, and serves as a member of Membership, Nominations, Bylaws and Policy, and Finance Committee.

2nd Year Director

Monika McCune, RHIA, RHIT, BSHIM


The Director (Second Year) supervises the activities of the following committees and serves as a member of the Annual Conference and Education, and Finance Committee.

Additionally, the following individuals have agreed to serve this term as Committee Chair persons for the 2024-2025 board year.

Annual Conference

Ron Gerard, CCS


The Committee shall plan HIMAH’s Annual Educational Conference Program.


Shawn Bucsit, RHIT


The Committee shall plan at minimum quarterly educational programs that shall meet the educational needs of HIMAH’s members.

Nominations (and special project) Membership

Marguerite Kono, RHIT, CHCO, QCP, CMDP, RAC-CT, CHA, OHC

The Committee shall identify for Board approval qualified individuals to serve on the Board of Directors and as Officers of HIMAH. The – 12 – Committee shall nominate candidates for open Director and Officer positions for election by the Active Members in accordance with these Bylaws.

Bylaws (and special project) Policy

Zena Estamago, RHIT

The Committee shall review the HIMAH Bylaws annually to ensure language and content align with AHIMA Bylaws.


Emma Thompson, RHIT

Review and recommend budget changes, financial statements, quality, quantity, substance and dissemination of info, and monitor investments.

The new members bring a wealth of experience and expertise to the Board, and we are confident that they will make significant contributions to the organization’s future success.

We would like to thank the outgoing Board members for their years of service and dedication to the organization. These are MaryAnn Floresca, Erin Matsumura, and Ron Gerard who has graciously agreed to stay on as the Chair of the Annual Conference Committee.

Finally, a big Mahalo to everyone who participated in the election process by nominating, agreeing to run and most importantly, voting.  We look forward to serving the members of the great state of Hawaii during the upcoming year.
